oh I hope your right. They played around with the idea of a rotary range extender a few years ago in a mazda2 mule. its great because they are so compact that they fit it horizontally under the trunk.

Well, they announced the CX-5 Turbo for the Japanese market yesterday, so that’s coming to the U.S....soon. New-body Mazda3 is coming soon. The RX Vision concept still has potential.

An updated US-model BT50 would be cool, but I doubt it’ll happen since Ford dropped almost all their Mazda ownership.

I wish! I cannot for the life of me, figure out why my passenger ’s rear caliper will not stop dragging. E brake is set to about 8 clicks before holding (tight is supposed to be 3-5), new pads (2nd set) filed down so the tabs slid freely in the bracket guides, lubed the guides, pistons inspected for tears in boots/corrosion, none found. Can move the e brake actuator bracket on the caliper by hand with ease, and brand new rotors. Checked for warp even.

My e brake is the same way. I’ve had my car roll with the e brake at whatever click is second from the top. When I heard there was a Mazda 3 e brake recall I immediately called the dealership and only to be told my car wasn’t apart of the recall.

Plausible except for the inclusion of “speed” interjected between Mazda and 3. Hell, it might be the CX-3 where they’d throw in a range extender .

I am consistently amazed by Mazda, especially their new SkyActiv tech and the HCCI coming soon. A Mazda hybrid could be amazing if done right, hopefully they don’t rush it.

Some partial insider info, I worked with company that worked with an AV company who bidding on producing this unveiling event for Mazda.

Still confidential but there was only mention of unveiling the mazda3 in the RPF doc. Usually you’d see something like “new product unveil” to be more secretive .

There was s omething about “Gen 7" I just assumed the mazda3 in on its 7th generation. is that right or is there something else in mazdas stable that is on its 6th generation now?

I'm not holding my breath though. Mazda seems to have little to no love for EVs so far.
